Hello Philadelphia! I am a native PA-er, but moved to Denver 5 years ago. It is time for me to get back to my roots and I am looking to relocate to Philly, as the majority of my family is in PA. My plan is to secure employment before moving cross-country. However, because of the scarce job market on the east coast, I have doubts that this will come to fruition.
I am currently in school working towards my degree, but dont have that highly regarded piece of paper yet (I do have plenty of college experience!). I have been employed for 5 years with a Fortune 500 company and am doing quite well for myself.
I have tinkered around with posting resumes and applying for positions in/around Philly ( no bites), and I realize my chances are limited as I am currently out of state.
My fear is having to move to PA without employment, and in this job market I feel that this is essential to have before hand.
My only other option is to move home with the parents temporarily, while I look for employment in the Philly area. I
Can anyone provide any suggestions on the best way to go about this?
Thank you :)

I've had a few friends relocate recently (mostly moving from Philly to another city), and its been very hard for them to secure employment prior to actually making the move. I know when we hire at my company, we actually look for people who have made the move already. I think most employers like the security of knowing that you're already settled down in the area. I think the best idea for you is to move in with your parents temporarily while you look for a job. Good luck to you!
