As a job seeker, I have attended career fairs all over the city looking for work as a mid-level business professional. Every time I go, the fairs are over crowded, open to anyone just off the street (and I mean anyone), and the companies hiring are mostly looking to fill bulk positions like Customer Service and Outside Sales Reps. I keep going, motivated by the prospect of finding the needle in a haystack, but I'm beginning to think my time is better spent revising my resume or practicing my interview skills at home. Has anyone ever had success finding a job at a career fair?

Try looking into Virtual Career Fairs. The face to face activity isn't economically justified for employers during times like these. They will invest face to face time once they done the appropriate screening and the virtual world lets them do this quickly and easily.
